酬恩庵・一休寺は、児童向けアニメ「一休さん」や、大人向けアニメ「オトナの一休さん」のモデルとなった、一休宗純(いっきゅう そうじゅん)禅師が晩年を過ごした寺です。
境内案内図です。
駐車場です。駐車料金は300円（2018年）で、拝観はAM9時からです。紅葉の時期になると大変に混雑し、AM7時から並ぶ車もあるほどです。
総門を正面から。参道は緩い坂道になっています。
総門をくぐった先に、手水舎があります。
参道の先に料金所があります。拝観料は500円(2018年現在)です。
料金所の向かい側に、サウナ形式の浴室(よくしつ)があります。禅では入浴も大切な修行と定めており、食事と睡眠をとり坐禅を行う僧堂と、トイレ(臨済宗は雪隠、曹洞宗は東司と呼称）と共に、三黙堂(さんもくどう)に数えられています。
浴室の向かい側、料金所の裏側に一休禅師の墓所である宗純王廟(そうじゅん おうびょう)があります。
一休禅師は第100代・後小松天皇の御落胤である為、紋扉には皇室の紋章である菊花紋章の透かし彫りがあります。
宗純王廟から参道を歩いて庫裏(くり)に向かいます。
正面の門を潜ると本堂の前に出ますが、その前に中門(なかもん)を潜って庫裏に行きます。
中門を潜ると、右側に虎丘庵(こきゅう あん)の入り口が見えます。一休禅師は、美しい盲目の旅芸人・森侍者(しん じしゃ)と共に、虎丘庵で暮らしていました。
虎丘庵の近くに庫裏の入り口があります。庫院(くいん)や食堂(じきどう)とも言い、僧侶達の台所を意味します。因みに、インドでは粗末な小屋をクティーと言いますが、その音訳を語源とする説もあります。
靴を脱いで下駄箱に入れ、庫裏の中に入ります。順路の通りに進むと、右側に茶室が見えて来ます。
茶室の先に、接客や仏事を行う方丈(ほうじょう)があります。庫裏と方丈を繋ぐ短い回廊に、座禅や食事の前に打ち鳴らされる雲版(うんぱん)という鐘が下がっています。
方丈の南庭(なんてい)は枯山水(かれ さんすい)になっています。右側に見える屋根は、宗純王廟です。
方丈には、一休禅師のヒゲと髪を植えた木像と、御愛用の輿(こし)が安置されています。一休禅師は、この輿に乗って大徳寺に通ったそうです。襖絵の作者は、江戸時代初期の画家である狩野探幽(かのう たんゆう)です。
方丈の庭園には、二メートル近い観音石(かんのん せき)があります。その下にある四角い石は、禅僧が野外で坐禅をする時に使う坐禅石(ざぜん せき)と思われます。
一休禅師の木像が安置されている部屋は、他より一段高くなっています。
方丈を一周して、庫裏に戻ってきました。庫裏には喫茶室があり、一休禅師ゆかりの善哉(ぜんざい)や、一休寺納豆(いっきゅうじ なっとう)を使用した軽食を楽しめます。
暑い季節だったので、冷やし善哉と、冷茶をいただきました。
庫裏を出て、参道に戻ります。
本堂です。 御本尊は釈迦如来坐像で、両脇に文殊・普賢菩薩を従えています。
本堂の近くに、宝物殿(ほうもつでん)があります。ここには一休禅師ゆかりの品や、Eテレの「オトナの一休さん」関連の作品が保管されています。
オトナの一休さんのテーマソングです。本編も面白いので是非。
宝物殿の近くに、開山堂(かいざん どう)があります。御堂の中には、臨済宗大徳寺派の宗祖・大応国師(だいおうこくし)の座像があります。一休禅師は大応国師が開山した妙勝寺(みょうしょうじ)を建て直して、酬恩庵と名付けました。
開山堂の先は庭園になっており、一休さんの銅像があります。
その近くに、オトナの一休さんの石像があります。
庭園には、端を歩いてはいけない橋があります。しかし、『橋』なる概念は、我々の頭の中にしかありませんぞ。ご用心、ご用心！
橋を渡った先には、二十世紀の森があります。
二十世紀の森の近くには墓地があり、そこには猿楽(さるがく)の名人、三代目・音阿弥(おんあみ)の墓があります。初代は観阿弥(かんあみ)、二代目は世阿弥(ぜあみ)、三代揃って観世音(かんぜおん)と読めます。
墓地の近くには鐘楼(しょうろう)があります。
酬恩庵・一休寺は紅葉で有名な寺ですが、拝観入り口付近にある江庵(こうあん)の門が、最も紅葉の撮影に適していました。
一休寺の近くに、能楽発祥の地と言われる薪神社(たきぎ じんじゃ)があります。
猿楽師・世阿弥の娘婿であり、一休禅師の友人でもあった金春禅竹(こんぱるぜんちく)は、一休禅師の為に薪能(たきぎのう)を披露しました。それが能楽の始まりと考えられています。
薪神社の鳥居を正面から。鳥居の奥に見える猿田彦神社(さるたひこ じんじゃ)の右側に、能楽発祥の碑があります。
薪神社の拝殿を正面から。御祭神は第15代・応神天皇(おうじん てんのう)です。
拝殿の右側に、撫で牛(なでうし)の石像があります。
撫で牛の右側に、金毘羅社(こんぴら じんじゃ)と明治神宮(めいじ じんぐう)の遥拝所があります。
ここから南西の方角に、古くから信仰の対象になってきた薪甘南備山(たきぎ かんなび やま)があります。薪神社の境内には、その山頂付近にある神南備神社(かんなびじんじゃ)の遥拝所があります。
